Minimal OMSA installation on RedHat Linux (RHEL)
Hi,
I'm trying to install the minimum necessary packages for OMSA in our infrastructure. We have a combination of RedHat 5/6/7 running on different Dell servers (gen 11/12/13th and 14th in the near future) and we are trying to get only the base packages but without missing racadm for any of the platforms I mentioned.
We are currently using these packages as base:
- srvadmin-base
- srvadmin-idrac7
- srvadmin-idracadm7
, but I would like to know if these are the right ones instead (that in the future will include idrac8 or new ones):
- srvadmin-base
- srvadmin-idrac
- srvadmin-idracadm
Is this correct? I couldn't find any documentation or topics in the forums. Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Bruno

Hi Josh,
The first is dependency resolution when tried to install the different packages, I noticed there is one more package listed (srvadmin-idrac-ivmcli).
I'm wondering if using the second command is the right set of components needed to work with RACADM and even with OpenManage Enterprise.
Thanks!

Hi,
I do not see a srvadmin-idrac after idrac 7, just idracadm.

Hi Bruno,
I see from the log that srvadmin-base was installed, which is what you need to control OMSA via RACADM.
This page has some helpful info on the Dell Linux Repository: http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/omsa.html.
Thanks,
