OMSE or OMSA?
Hello, I need to manage a T610 from another system (Windows Server 2008 R2). Which of OMSE or OMSA should I use? What is the difference between them? Best regards Kostas

Hello Kostas
It would probably be easier to just use OpenManage Server Administrator Web Server to remotely manage a single system.
OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node is used to manage a server locally. You install it on the server and use it to manage the server it is installed on.
OpenManage Server Administrator Web Server is used to remotely manage servers. You log into servers remotely via OMSAWS and can perform the same functionality as if you were logged into OMSAMN locally. Another bonus to web server is that it can be installed on a lot of operating systems. You can install it on a laptop/workstation running a client operating system.
OpenManage Essentials is designed to remotely manage multiple systems on a network. It is more robust than OMSA, but also has specific requirements. It can only be installed on 2008 R2 and it cannot be installed on a domain controller. To view the full requirements and read more on OME go to the wiki:

Thanks

Daniel said this, but I'm not sure if it was clear ... OMSA installs a small web server in the Managed Node and is how the information is displayed in the interface. This web server can also be accessed remotely through a browser. Say you install OMSA on your T610 that has an IP address of 192.168.1.110. To connect to the OMSA interface on that server from another system, you can connect by going to http://192.168.1.110:1311 ... this works without the "web server" installed on the unmanaged workstation/server.

Thank you both. My need is to be able to schedule a startup of the T610. So, I probably need to install OME in another machine. I will install OMSA as well in the machine in question (T610).
Can you suggest anything else?
Best regards
