PERC 6/i and I need 3 channels off the 1 controller
Hello - I've been told by Dell (after going through more people than I care to point out) that I would be able to achieve a 3 channel RAID architecture for the internal array. Channel 0 - 1x RAID1 (2-146gb drives). Channel 1 - 1x RAID1 (2-146gb drives). and lastly Channel 2 1x RAID5 (4-146gb drives).
Now - I am struggling to get my 3rd party installer to get this to work, and so I am needing to know if I was given incorrect information here. I'm not looking to point fingers - I just need to know what the facts actually are, so I can just get moving forward. This is for a SQL Server 2005 install, so I find it hard to believe that I cannot separate my OS from my logs from my data on 3 separate channels for better IO performace with a server class machine.
Thanks in advance...
