As far as the context to walk up in pairs you can map the release dates. Start with BIOS and follow up the part with IDRAC which was getting a release in a similar timeframe. I am not sure if BIOS compatibility for the iDRAC is mentioned in any iDRAC release notes or readme. It is worth searching it though.
