Hello,

Logging into the iDRAC would be the place to acquire any sort of configuration information or logs. It has the System Event Log, the Command log, and there's one other with a name I can't recall right now. With this being purchased second hand, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the iDRAC didn't get cleared. If that's the case, it would also be password protected. You might consider installing OpenManage Server Administrator, so that you can issue the command 'racadm racresetcfg.' Even if it doesn't work out, you'll be able to view some of the iDRAC configuration information within there. Hopefully, this is of some use to you.

Hello,

I have the same error. I tried to set the defaults ports again, changing them, reseting iDRAC, nothing worked.

Did you found a workaround ?

I am using proxmox as my hypervisor.

Thank you

Hi, I can see you already tried some steps. Apart from these, you can try a few things that come to my mind. I'm not sure it is related or not but you can try to disable IPv6 I saw it on this forum. Random SNMP network error after new iDrac update - ZABBIX Forums

And I found an article that mentions to how to configure SNMP iDRAC in 3th party managment consoles.

Hi,

Thank you for you quick response !

Unfortunately, IPV6 is already disabled and i'm not struggling to configure SNMP, i'm blocked before that step : i cannot activate it. In the page, "Network"> "Services"  when i try to apply any configuration i get the following error :

"RAC0763 : Unable to configure the port number that is entered because the port number is already in use. Enter a port number that is not already in use and retry the operation. If the issue persists, contact your service provider."

It seems like a bug or a missing information about a duplicate port somewhere. But there is nothing in the logs (I activated all the logs about Configuration errors in "Server" > "Logs"

I also installed OMSA to try to activate the SNMP service that way but i didn't saw any option to do it.

Hello locuste,

Did you try racadm racresetcfg?

Try resetting the DRAC this way:

Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Reset iDRAC configurations to defaults, save, exit, boot back to F2

Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Network.   Configure IP, Subnet and Gateway.

Then give it a flea power drain and check results:

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed). After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in, then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.
