Trying to install Open Manage Server Administrator

When trying to install System Administrator, we are getting the following: "A previous version of the Server Administrator software is installed on this system. You must uninstall that version before installation can continue" We were getting MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager) alerts as follows that originally brought our attention to the OpenManage Issue. Severity: Warning Maintenance Mode: False Domain: CRB Computer: servername Problem State: 0 Repeat Count: 4 Name: Dell_OM OMSA Installation required Warning rule Source: Dell MP Internal Event Description: This Dell Server requires an install of OpenManage Server Administrator Rule Name: Dell_OM OMSA Installation required Warning rule We are getting the same alert for several DELL servers. The server that I tried to reinstall DELL OPEN MANAGE on was Dell PowerEdge 2600, and the file I took from the DELL website was "Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node" dated 4/10/2007, at 127MB. After extraction it I tried the setup file in the following path: C:\OpenManage\Windows\Setup.exe An Error appeared: "A previous version of the Server Administrator software is installed on this system. You must uninstall that version before installation can continue" I tried to unistall manually as follows: C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\uninstall Uninstall.exe = nothing happened. I tried to uninstall via Control Panel 'Add remove programs' There were 3 options of what I can uninstall: -Array Manager -Remote Access Controller -DRAC II Management Station Software I did not choose any of them, as non of them looked relevant. Which do I unistall in order to reinstall Dell Open Manage, or has anytone got any other advise on how to proceed?

what version of server administrator is currently on the server?

you may find that you need to remove all previous components. i had this with server administrator v1.9.0 (really old) when trying to upgrade to 4.5 on my PE2600's. had to remove array and rac components etc.

cheers
