Unable to install OMSA on Windows Server 2012 R2
when I run the installer for OMSA, it runs through the prerequisite checker. It returns this message:
| An error occurred while attempting to execute a Visual Basic Script. Please confirm that Visual Basic files are installed correctly |
If I continue with the install, the install fails. I've looked up and down the internet for answers, but only found a few articles that pertain to Windows Server 2003 and don't help me. Unsure what to do here. Any suggestions on a fix? My server is a PowerEdge T130, Windows Server 2012 R2, fully updated and patched. I have SupportAssist Enterprise running successfully on this server too.
Thank you

I was finally able to get OMSA installed. Turned out, I have a GPO that was blocking Visual Basic - which in turn was blocking the installation of OMSA. Removed that GPO and now OMSA installed properly.

Hello
The OMSA support page should have an installation guide. I checked the 9.3 installation guide and there is a section about this issue.

Thanks

The install guide says:
Ensure that Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level > Scripting > Active scripting is set to Enable.
Ensure that Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level > Scripting > Scripting of Java applets is set to Enable
That was already completed/setup properly
Next was some stuff for Windows Server 2013 (doesn't pertain to me)
Next was: WSH is the wrong version, corrupted, or not installed. WSH is installed during operating system installation, by default.
Would you happen to know how to get WSH working on Windows Server 2012 R2?
