how to get idrac uptime?

I would like to get the up time of idrac6 and idrac7 preferably via WSMAN but racadm would also work.

With idrac7 I thought "racadm racdump" gave you uptime but it looks like I was wrong or it was taken out..

If there is nothing native to do this maybe I need to look at a log and figure it out myself? If so, what log and what is the line when the idrac resets?

Thanks for any help.

Bump.

Does anyone know how to get the uptime?

If it is not possible, how do I go about submitting an RFE?

Thanks

Try "racadm get System.ServerOS"

#ServerPoweredOnTime=14636557

Thanks Gutopa for replying. That command gives the OS uptime and not the idrac uptime.

bump.

The x->y problem is that I want to know if the server room power went down at any point recently.

Hi,

Just to clarify, are you referring to when did the server powered down and up when the data center had a power issue? Or you wanted to know if it can provide an alert when the data center has no power at any point?

You can check from the logs for server power status by using the command: racadm getsel. But you need more filtered listing, you can look at: racadm lclog view -k "Shutdown"

Provider told us power would go down, so we shut down the servers. However, I don't know if power actually went down at all... Are you saying that we'd see that in the logs regardless of server power status?

Conditions for LoggingIf the server was unplugged from the wall, or if the site lost power completely, the iDRAC would lose power and could not log new events until power is restored. The last log entry would show when power was lost.If only the server OS was shut down but AC power to the chassis remained, PSU and power events are still captured in the SEL.

@Dell-Martin S So I wouldn't see anything like 'iDRAC starting'?

I'm sorry, I don't know what the SEL is.

Hi,

You would not see an event like "iDRAC starting" just because of a power outage or loss, especially if the server was cleanly shut down before the outage. The "iDRAC starting" message typically appears when the server is powered on (cold boot, restart, or after AC power is restored), not when AC input is merely interrupted or restored while the server stays off

The System Event Log (SEL) is a special log in Dell PowerEdge servers that records important hardware events, including power supply issues, temperature alerts, drive failures, and many more.SEL is stored within the management controller (like iDRAC) and can be viewed using the iDRAC web interface, server BIOS/system setup (usually during POST using F2 or CTRL+E), or remotely via tools like RACADM

No Events found!
