iDRAC 7 upgrade path for r720xd
Hi,
My r720xd is running on pretty old software versions.
iDRAC 1.66.65 (Build 07)
Bios 2.5.2
Lifecycle Controller Firmware: 2.21.21.21
I saw other posts for upgrade path and tired that. Every time I try to upgrade iDRAC to 2.10.10.10, A00 or anything above 1.66 that I currently have. System stops booting. It doesn't go past configuring iDRAC ...screen.
I am not sure what I am missing here, I even tried chronological manual bio and iDRAC update. It din't help.
I am updating bios and iDRAC, from/via iDRAC update/rollback. I have unraid installed on system.
Using this link to download driver https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=0ghf4&oscode=lhs64&productcode=poweredge-r720xd

Hello aakashq,
I'm sorry to see the DRAC firmware having issues.
You may try Reset the DRAC to defaults, reconfigure network settings and update firmware via DRAC using the native .d7 file.
Reset DRAC:
Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Reset iDRAC configurations to defaults
Update
iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller v. 2.21.21.21
Download: https://dell.to/3k41SGd
File Format: An application
File Name: iDRAC-2.21.21.21-A00.exe
-Execute the file to extract files
-supply the firming.d7 file in the DRAC to update
Please let me know if this helps.
