idrac 6/7 console browser/java compatibility chart?

Is there a document somewhere that shows which browsers and java versions are compatible with the remote consoles in which idrac 6 and 7 versions?

I have yet to find a version of IE9, 32 and 64 bit, or Firefox, 28 and later on Windows or Linux, that works, but I have need to upgrade my idracs and I want to know if the idrac upgrade will solve this problem.

Thanks

Hi,

The supported browsers are in the release notes for the firmware http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER02076730M/1/iDRAC7_1%2056%2055_A_ReleaseNotes.pdf

IDRAC7

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 10

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

• Safari version 5.2

• Safari version 6.0

• Mozilla Firefox version 22

• Mozilla Firefox version 23

• Google Chrome version 27

• Google Chrome version 28

IDRAC 6

http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01981996M/1/iDRAC6_1.97_A00_ReleaseNotes.pdf

The latest versions of the firmware may help with the supporting later versions of Java. What is the issue you are having with them?

I know this is an old post, but it's one of the few google results that is relevant. I've found a solution. Take the viewer.jnlp file that downloads when you click launch from the iDRAC web interface and edit it with a text editor or open it with a web browser. There should be a line that says where x is the version of Java required. It worked for me on an iDRAC 6 enterprise and required Java 1.6. Also note that in the file it said but 1.7 and newer did not work for me.

Can you check iDRAC FW version on the server where vConsole is failing. If it is not latest can you try with latest iDRAC FW and try. Can you also share the details on java error message observed. Below link have details on supported operating system and browsers supported by iDRAC 6 and iDRAC 7

iDRAC 6

Hello,

Which RAID card are you using? Did you get the controller card later? Can you reseat it, can you try it on a different PCIe slot? Can you reseat RAID battery cables? Can you access the RAID BIOS with CTRL + R, if you can, can you see the VD and physical disks there? You can try by doing the BIOS iDRAC and PERC updates. Also, if you have opened the safe before, maybe there is a static electricity problem. You can make a power flea drain for this. You can turn the server off, unplug the PSU, hold down the power button for 15 seconds, wait 1-2 minutes, and then turn it on again. If the problem persists, you can remove the PERC card and try again. There may be a problem with the slot or PERC. It gives this error when some unknown card is inserted.

Let us know if this helps!

Hi

Which RAID card are you using? attached pic

Did you get the controller card later? No

Can you reseat it, can you try it on a different PCIe slot? Yes but not work

Can you reseat RAID battery cables? no

Can you access the RAID BIOS with CTRL + R : option not comes

if you can, can you see the VD and physical disks there?

You can try by doing the BIOS iDRAC and PERC updates : not find correct link to download and upate. please provide me step to do that.

Also, if you have opened the safe before, maybe there is a static electricity problem. You can make a power flea drain for this.
You can turn the server off, unplug the PSU, hold down the power button for 15 seconds, wait 1-2 minutes, and then turn it on again.
If the problem persists, you can remove the PERC card and try again: : how i identify perc card.

There may be a problem with the slot or PERC. It gives this error when some unknown card is inserted.

Please Help me and advise/

Hello Ghanshyam2020,

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately I cannot tell what PERC you have from the picture. The PERC is the card inserted flat ways into the center riser .  Can you please provide the DP/N number from the sticker to help identify the PERC you have?

Reseat the center riser, perc card and the cables and check results. If you still get the error try turning on with the PERC removed and see check if you still get the error.

The PERC looks like it may be missing the heat sink.

Was this a working system? Is there any data loss?

Possible failure points: the PERC, the riser with the integrated PERC slot or the system board.

Once you are able to boot you can update Drivers and firmware listed on the support page:
