Array Manager Console 3.7

Hi,

I am trying to install the Array Manager console on a Win XP-Pro workstation.  The openmanage array manager is version 3.7 and it will be connecting to a Novell Netware 6.5 sp3 server.

I have the current 4.5_ISM_A00.iso image and I cannot find the console software.  When I access the windows subdirectory on the cd, I get an error message that the manger software is only for Win2003server.  I don't want to install the manager software, just the console.  Under the 3.7 documentation, winXP is listed as acceptable for the console.  Any ideas?

You can only install Array Manager 3.7 from OpenManage 4.5 if you already have it installed on your system.  So, if you don't already have it, then you can download a previous version of Array Manager that has its own installation.  The following link takes you to the Array Manager 3.6 installation file:

Be sure to run the custom install so that you can specify to only have the console installed.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Ok, thanks, I got the 3.6 console installed, but is there a way to get this console updated to version 3.7?  I installed 3.7 on my netware server and I am unable to connect with the 3.6 console.  I am not sure if the reason is version incompatibility, or an inproper setup on my part.

Now that you've got AM 3.6 on that system, you need to use the Dell OpenManage Management Station 4.5 installation to upgrade the console.  You can download it here:

I love a nice breadcrumb trail.  Thank you for all of your help, your methods worked perfectly.

I now have my Raid 1 array configured with a global hot spare and that was my initial goal!

Best Regards,
