Faulting application dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe, version 7.1.0.573

Hi All,

I have the error  "Faulting application dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe, version 7.1.0.573" in Windows application event logs on T610 server (Windows 2008 Server 32 bit) and I beleive that it has started after applying MS Security patches on the server. When I encounter this error OMSA is opening with almost all system diganostics info missing. Is there a resolution to fix that error? Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Serhan

Hi Chris,

Actually, whenever I have this error or in other words whenever OMSA is missing most of the information on the interface, I see this error. OMSA is losing its functionality and I am not able to receive the hardware alarms (power supply loss, or high temperature alarm) from this server. Lastly, I have instaled OMSA on 4 other servers and they are workinf fine...

Serhan

I've updated the controller as OMSA's indicated that it was out of date. And Dell Technical support has provided me the driver. Controller is PERC 6/i integrated. I can provide you the correspondence.

Serhan,

This is an issue with OMSA itself and will be resolved in the next version release. It is a false error and isn't actually causing an impact on the system.

What is the controller installed in this server? If at a different revision or a different controller might be the difference.

Let me know the controller and I will get you the update.

Have you updated the firmware as well?

Hi Chris,

PERC 6/i integrated firmware version is 6.3.1.0003 and the driver version is 2.24.00.32. Same with the one you've sent I suppose.

Hi Chris,

I've uninstalled v7.1 and installed v6.4 but the issue persists. There is SEP 12.1 installed on the T610 server. Can the antivirus software stop the dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe?

Antivirus and other security programs have been known to block OMSA's access to the hardware.  Try uninstalling the security program or creating an exception for the OMSA services.  Also, when you install the latest OMSA again, make sure you are running as the Administrator.

is that service actually starting and staying on, or does it stop within a minute?

Hi,

When i have the issue the service stops and I have the restart it. Creating an exception on the antivirus software for the "C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\dataeng\bin" folder did not work either.
