Reg: Using a System build & update utility boot cd
I have a poweredge 2950 server. I forgot how to use a SBUU boot cd as its been few years since I last used it.
Hence kindly guide me on how to use SBUU v2.4

For what? Firmware updates? OS install?
Just boot to the SBUU and select the appropriate option. Note that the version of OS you are installing and the version of SBUU is important.

for firmware update & os installation.
want to install 2008 R2. So pls suggest which ver of SBUU to be used?
I tried with Ver 2.4 but the entire process of booting & progress is very very slow. Now it has stopped at 15% while trying to collect server information.
thx

Use SMTD instead:

Tkx. even tried that, its faster & goes up till os initial installation after reboot. Here it ask for inserting the media with drivers. Maybe because firmware updates are not in SMTD?

Yes. Updates are not in SBUU either. You need to use SUU as the repository for the updates. Sorry, forgot to mention that when you said you wanted to update firmware with it.
