Should Dell OpenManage be installed on the Hyper-V host or the Windows Server 2012 R2 (DC, DNS, DHCP, etc) guest?
I have a installation of Windows Server 2012 R2 with only the Hyper-V role.
I made another installation as a virtual machine with Windows Server 2012 R2 and it is the DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.....Should I install Dell OpenManage on that guest or should it go on the host?

Hello
You can install OpenManage Server Administrator on a VM to remotely manage another system, but OMSA needs to be installed on the host operating system to manage the hardware on that system. If you just install OMSA in a VM then it will only have access to virtual hardware. OMSA will only function inside a VM as a remote management console to either the host OMSA installation or another systems OMSA installation.
