We've recently took over a business which came with many assets. Including with this was a Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet. The problem we're facing is it has a BIOS password on it which we cannot reset. I've spent a good day trying to find a way to do this, but I'm having no luck. I don't have access to the original order number or any details related to that. I've called dell support and after having a 40 minute conversation with them, they essentially can't give me any help as I don't have the order number?
Surely there's a way around this? Or do I have a tablet I can't use?
Unfortunately, the only way to have the bios pw reset is to call into Dell. I do not have access to the tool that generates a pw and I do not know of any other way that would work. They should be able to help you out if you have the tablets service tag number or express service code. With those 2 numbers call Customer Care at 1-800-624-9897 and ask them for the order number.
Thanks for the reply. I've tried doing that and they weren't able to give me a order number as I don't have the original address the tablet was posted to?

If you purchased the system used, contact the seller - if they cannot provide the information, return the system to the seller and obtain a refund.
This was also provided. They weren't any help and struggled to obtain any information about the previous owners. Surely there's a master password I can put in?
Dell has to generate the master password -- and before they do that they'll insist on verification of ownership of the system. If you have the purchase paperwork from the purchaser, that should be sufficient. If you do not, you've only one other option - replace the system board (which is likely not a cost-effective idea on this system; you're probably better off scrapping it).
I have the same problem, but i could managed to transfer the ownership. Now I am the legal owner of my Dell venue pro 5130 tablet (second hand). But the bios still locked by an unknown password. You wrote that we have to call a phone number in this case. Is there any other way to contact you in writing form from Hungary? (chat, email etc) I not have the ability to communicate in English in the foreword.
If I am the owner, do I need the first owner datas or not to get BIOS admin password reset!
