Dell Venue Pro 5130 Mobile Broadband Issues
Hi all,
I have a number of dell venue 5130 tablets all using mobile broadband (Vodafone) and on numerous occasions if you swipe in from the right the mobile broadband will not be displayed, airplane mode and wifi is viewable but mobile broadband isn't. Sometimes a few reboots is needed for it to re-appear. I have checked by going into mobile broadband on settings but still am not able to turn the connection on. Would appreciate any help on this if possible
Regards

I have this problem too and in my opinion the situation got worse after the latest bios updates.
98% of the times the WWAN boardband mobile card doesn't even show up in the connectivity menu... I think that I was able to use it 2 times at most and it kept losing the connectivity.
Maybe the card gets suspended by the power saving options because is connected via an internal usb connector.

I forgot to say that in my case the "SelSuspDisable" patch isn't installed and I'm using all the latest updates available on the Dell support site.

Just adding my voice to this thread as I am having exactly the same problem with one of four Venue 11's recently purchased. Please sort this one quickly Dell.

Good to know, then probably a future driver or firmware update can solve the problem entirely.
I will try to roll back the wwan drivers as peter.r.gray has suggested and see how it goes.
P.S: I'm using the DELL OEM Windows Installation, Windows 8.1 Professional.

I have the same problem. The problem has surfaced a few times since I got the device a few months ago. A reboot has tended to resolve it. But now I have rebooted the tablet several times, and it does not show up in the network charm, nor in the Device Manager. The Device Manager does list an unknown USB device. Wonder what that is...

I also have the same problem. I bought my Dell Venue 11 pro a couple of weeks ago. Thew mobile broadband worked fine the first three weeks. Now the connection does not show up in the netwok charm and the Network connection list. Reboot and remove battery does not help me.
I noticed that the mobile broadband sometimes show up in the device manager for a second before disapearing. The device has a yellow triangle on it. I managed to get a screen shot of the failed device icon.
I am guesing this might be a hardware problem. I will contact dell support and see what they can make of it. I will post here again if thereis any progress.

There is a new driver for the mobile broadband, released 2014-08-19. This driver solved my problem.
Since the driver is quite new I had to download it manually from dell.
Info on driver:
Dell Wireless 5570 WWAN Mobile Broadband card and GNSS (GPS) Driver
Version 5.14.4163.504, A04

I installed the driver but the broadband card continues to have the same problems.
occasionally the usb controller fails to recognize the card because it does not respond to the request descriptor.
I think can be a hardware problem because it only solves it off (not reboot)

I have updated the broadband drivers as well, with no success. My tablets are deployed in ambulances and this is causing a huge problem with documentation and unit tracking. The staff is extremely frustrated with the tablets.
Has anyone had any success with turning off the power save features in windows to try to prevent the system from putting the broadband card to sleep?

The keyboard (the one with the battery) has a small black sticker on the back with a CN# and a revision# (A00, A01, A02 or no revision#)
With some of my users the problem disappeared when they replaced their keyboard for a A01 or A02 keyboard.
There is a mayor replacement going to happen soon to replace all keyboards.
Dell also published BIOS revision A09. Maybe this will be a solution.
I did not had the chance to check this with my users. Maybe someone else?
