Create a dynamic pool or extend it in a non-all flash model (hybrid models)

Question

Hi, Unfortunately and disappointing ..but it seems dynamic pools and extending existing ones is impossible in unity hybrid models. Is that true or by updating firmware or managing software it may be possible?

Dynamic pools are supported on Unity all flash models only. All pools (both traditional and dynamic) can be extended by adding additional disks on both hybrid and all flash Unity.

Thanks Chris, But would you please tell me where on a hybrid model I can extend a pool (which is normally just traditional. It seems unavailable ..)

Hi,In Unisphere > pools:If this option is grayed out for you, then most likely you don't have enough or valid drives to expand.Example if I try to expand a pool for which I have no more drives (message you would see if you hover over the expand pool option):Andre @ Dell EMC
