Monitor unity device with snmp by zabbix

I have unity 600 and I want monitor it by zabbix as I know the best solution is use snmp but after enable snmp v2c on my device the seems it does not work correctly for example I did snmpwalk to check it but it does not work

snmpwalk -v2c -c KEY emc-ip-address

how can solve this ?

Hi,

Thanks for your questions about Unity SNMP. What version is the OE? It needs to be version 4.2.1.9535982 or newer to support snmpv2. https://dell.to/3wo7WQU

I have 3 unity 600 with follow versions :

UnityOS = 4.5.1.0.5.001
UnityOS = 5.0.1.0.5.011
UnityOS = 4.5.1.0.5.001

Also one unity 800

UnityOS = 5.0.4.0.5.012

But SNM-2C does not work on them snmpwalk cannot connect to them. How can connect them with SNMP to get OIB for zabbix monitor ?

Unity doesn't support any SNMP poll (get) operations, that means Unity will not reply any SNMP "get operations" such as:
snmpwalk/snmpget/snmpbulkget/snmpbulkwalk/snmpset

The Zabbix site seems to indicate that using the REST API and not SNMP for Unity is what they support https://dell.to/3LquXYO

Dear Dell Team

We hope this message finds you well.

We have encountered an issue with the SNMP server of the Dell Unity XT 380 Storage while following best practices and ensuring proper configuration from the controller side. Despite our efforts, we have been unable to retrieve any SNMP data from the storage unit on our Zabbix server.

As this issue is impacting our monitoring capabilities, we kindly request your support in resolving this matter at your earliest convenience. Any assistance or guidance you can provide to troubleshoot and rectify the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to working together to address the issue and restore functionality to our monitoring system.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

What OE version are you using? Is it set up for SNMP v2 or v3? Can they ping? Are you using the template? https://dell.to/3BsTpcX
