Hi arunkumarjv
The option is available in the Unity GUI (Unisphere), so yes - fully available to anyone that knows the "service" password.
All info is in the GUI when you highlight the reinitialize option, which is very clear:
"Reset the storage system to the original factory settings. Both Storage Processors (SPs) for a dual SP system or the single SP for a single SP system must be installed, operating normally, and in Service Mode. To put the SP(s) in Service Mode, execute the Enter Service Mode task on each SP below.
WARNING: Reinitializing will destroy all system configuration settings and stored data on the storage system. It is recommended that you back up all the data and configuration settings to an external storage system. Once the system is reinitialized, copy or restore all the data back to it. The Unisphere may get timeout when the system start reinitializing. Wait 90 to 120 minutes while the system is being reinitialized."
Thanks

Backup (configuration/data) If replicated, it would help too.
When the array comes up after reinitialize, it is like factory fresh. Licenses/Network configuration utilities (or usb config) are required.

Hello All,
i have tried this reinitialization activity on one of our unity as suggested. like putting the SP's in service mode and then hit the reinitialize button so, far it has been three days and i am unable to ping the IP we used in the past. Any advice any one can provide on how to access this system back? will reinitialize removes the IP used previously and i could not rediscover this system on the connection utility. The IP seems to be not pingable. I would appreciate if anyone can provide advice fixing this issue.
