unity equivalent to nas_checkup ?
Is there an equivalent commend to the VNX nas_checkup health check ? and if so, can it also be invoked from the REST API ( so a automated check can be created )

You can use UEMCLI (or the RestAPI equivalent). Have a look at the "Unisphere Command Line Interface User Guide" for Unity. Page 43 (Perform a system health check).

see healthcheck in the UEMCLI command reference guide
should be available from REST as well
see REST API reference
either available from support site
or on every Unity system online at https:// /apidocs/index.html
Its not directly the same as on VNX
the VNX nas_checkup is just for the NAS side - Unity has health states instead
the Unity healthcheck is about the complete system but usually used before an upgrade
