uuid already in use

Hi,

I originally downloaded the community edition and registered it without any issues.   Fast forward ~1.5 years and after a few power outages, the UnityVSA no longer boots as it gets hung up on step 17 of 29.  I downloaded the latest community edition ova and installed it.  However, when I try to get a license it gives me an error that the UUID is already in use.

I saw on previous discussions that one workaround was to use another account.  I registered a new one, but it didn't change the UUID in-use message.

I don't have a copy of the original license; is there a way to extract the license from the old VM (it boots to service mode) or from EMC that I can use on the newer Unity ova?

    Thanks!

you could try to take a data collect via svc tools - maybe its in there

I think the UUID depends on your ESX server - there was a post here a while back on how to change in the VM config
