vsa unity change virtual hardware

i have use versione:

UnityVSA-4.1.1.9138882

bat if change virtual hardware on appliance:

- increse cpu

- increase ram

- upgrade virtual hardware to esx 6.0

the VSA not starting and block

I remember that earlier versions had this problem if change configuration

so I wonder why you write: minimum configuration required:

A minimum of 12 GB RAM per UnityVSA VM is recommended.
** A minimum of 2 virtual cores per UnityVSA VM is recommended.

then if I can not change anything!!!!!

there are licenses that allow you to change the configuration?

***************************

another questions:

after upgrate to 4.1.1.9.x

apper on license:

"compression"

"ip multu tenancy"

as a free license is activated for these?

thanks

Hi alvaro5555,

Unity VSA hardware config cannot be changed. If you change it, the VSA will not boot as you have found.

For the other questions, if the license is green for those features then they will be enabled.

I would think these features will be available after upgrade.

the purchase of the license is bound by the advantage of changing cpu and ram. two cpu and 12gb ram

they are too few, it goes into crisis easily

if buying the license does not allow you to change cpu and ram, it is useless to buy

the license governs the capacity

if you have indications that CPU/memory is not enough for your workload then please work with your local Dell EMC team

buy license only for increase cpu and ram, not for capacity storage.

two cpus are too few: just do a deploy of a virtualmachine or a s-vmotion and the two cpu go to 120% and also the ram.

all those I know who use this vsa software appliance have this problem

then please work with your local team to get feedback to product management

maybe open a product enhancement request
