Delete pair from active SRDF Metro group

Hello,

We have a ESX metrocluster (set of hosts in one location and set of hosts in another location).

In each location we have a VMAX array.  For the metrocluster 8 SRDF metro volumes are provisioned (active-active).

Is it possible to delete one pair of the volumes from the SRDF group without disruption to the hosts in any location?

According to documentation before we can delete a pair we have to suspend the SRDF. But this would cause disruption of access to R2 devices in one of the location. Is there a safe workaround? Current fw code is 5978.221.221.
