Powerpath support for non-EMC Storage family

Hi all,

I have a scenario where I have an ESX host on which one VM guest is to be presented with a SAN LUN from VMAX and another VM guest is to be presented with a SAN LUN from Netapp FAS device (may be a FAS3160), could you please let me know if the powerpath can cater for storage controller level load balancing (load balancing at the multiple internal paths between the Storage Controller and the LUN) for NetApp as well?

If this is not going to be working out with powerpath, is there any vendor specific or third party or host based multipathing tools that can provide a consistency at the Storage controller level?
