Two EMC Storage on single Brocade Switch?

Hi all,

My environment have EMC celerra NX4 Storage. We connected 4 Servers,EMC SP-A and SP-B to Brocade-300 SAN switch. Brocade Switch licensed 8 Ports only.2 Ports now free. we would like to connect one more Storage EMC VNX-5300 on the same Brocade switch. Any impacts in this connectivity? 4 Hosts are VMware ESXi 4.1.0 servers and configured for vSphere High Availability. can i perform any additional activities on this connectivity or connect VNX to brocade directly without any configurations? Please Suggest me on this.

Existing setup:

Switch Model: Brocade 300

4 Servers are Identical: Fujitsu Primergy RX200 S6  :  4 Ports

Storage: EMC Celerra NX4  :2 Ports

Setup in Future:

4 Servers are Identical: Fujitsu Primergy RX200 S6  :  4 Ports

Storage1: EMC Celerra NX4  :2 Ports

Storage2: EMC VNX 5300 :2 Ports

you want each HBA to be connected to at least 2 ports, one on SPA and one on SPB ..so if you have two available ports on each fabric you can have it connected the "right way"

Fabric A -  SPA0, SPB3

Fabric B - SPB0, SPA3

or something of that nature.

Hi, i hope you are aware your configuration is not fault tolerant (1 hba x server and 1 FC-switch).

Having said that, EMC (and VMware) recommends single initiator zoning to be perfomed on FC switches.
