USM is only one of the features available when using the thick client and is used for storage provisioning.  In-context storage mapping is done with the Storage Viewer and there is also path management and features for AppSync, RecoverPoint with SRM and SRA Utilities for SRDF/SRM.  If you search by product you will see them all:

i am not seeing emc vsi tab in vsphere 5.5. IN 5.1 I was able to see it and see the luns map to which lun in emc.
