See the VNX CIFS manual – just search it for comment
You can change the comment via server_cifs
A Windows client caches the comment in the registry – so if you have connected once to the server with default comment you need to clean the registry key.
Location is in the manual
There is most likely a knowledgebase/Primus article for that as well
Thank you. When I run the command server_cifs server_2 -add compname=servername.domain.com,domain=DOMAIN.COM -comment " " to remove the comment, per the 'Clear Comments' section on page 85 of the manual, I receive an error: "Error 13157007814: server_2 : The compname 'compname' already exists on VDM 'VDM0. It cannot be created." Would I then have to do a full remove/readd? If so, I am not comfortable doing a full remove/re-add just to remove comments. Also, I found the Primus articles and will review those.
EDIT: I subsituted VDM0 for server_2 and the command succeeded. Thanks for the help.
