Configure VNX data mover for iSCSI storage

Hey,

Has anyone setup and configured their VNX pool(s) and data mover as a iSCSI target?  I could use some phone support on making sure that this and any other supportive configuration is in place prior to sharing out storage over this protocol.  I am not use to the file side of the VNX and could use some help.  I found this documentation (http://hippodata.blogspot.com/2013/05/setup-iscsi-storage-on-celerra.html) , but it does not provide the steps for configuring a pool that will support the LUNs that I am guessing iSCSI will use for its filesystem.

Thank you,

Hi,

data mover based ISCSI has been discontinued on the VNX

For providing ISCSI storage you need to use the storage processor based ISCSI implementation.

You can refer to this video "The comparison of the iSCSI configuration on VNX for File and Block": https://community.emc.com/videos/3828

It's in Chinese but since it's a video, you should be able to learn something from it.

Wow, really?! Would you happen to have documentation on this?

Hi,

you will not find documentation on data mover based ISCSI on VNX since it is no longer supported.

You can ask your EMC sales team to ask via RPQ for a config exception.

You can use the storage processor based ISCSI instead.
