Configuring VNXe3150
Question for the masses about backend configuration (not connected to a network/domain). I have a VNXe3150 I need to configure. It is connected to a Cisco 3750G switch. I can configure DHCP on the switch for the VNXe to get an IP address. However, I do not have DNS set up anywhere. Can I configure the VNXe without DNS? If so, how? The setup guide says DNS is required but I have no DNS server.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Jyothi,
I have read this document a couple of times. In the installation requirements (page 6), the document says DNS is recommended. However, in the Automatically Assigning a Dynamic VNXe Management Port IP Address (page 22), the document says DNS is required. The Manually Assigning a Static VNXe Management Port IP Address (page 23) doesn't say anything about DNS but that portion is using the Connection Utility just like Automatically Assigning portion so I would think that DNS is required here as well? I can't use a thumb drive since this equipment is for the government.
Any other thoughts about how to achieve configuring the device?

Okay here is a update on my situation. I am still not able to use the Auto Discover method. I tried using the manual method yet it will not configure itself. I did use a hard drive to try to configure it. I created a 32GB FAT32 partition and created the two files on that. The fault lights are still blinking blue and orange after 30 minutes and I can't ping or connect to the IP I set. The switch in between is pretty vanilla. I have 2 servers and the VNXe on the same subnet. I can ping between the 2 servers so I know it is working. Can I not use the hard drive and have to use a flash drive? Is there something I am missing in all of this?

I would suggest to open a service request
