How do I configure iSCSI on VNX7500
Hello All,
I am coming from a CX4-960 where iscsi was configured on the datamovers. In looking through all the menu options in Unisphere, I cannot find where to create the target, lun, etc, or even to create the ip address interface for iscsi. I have read that some people have an iscsi port type in their settings, network, settings for block, I however do not.
Would someone be able to point me in the general direction as to how to configure ISCSI? Is it something I have to configure? I don't thin it it is done at the datamover level anymore, which is fine.
Thanks folks.
Brandon

Thanks dynamox.
I am reviewing the Unisphere 2.1 help guide, and am in the section that talks about configure iscsi ports on the storage systems. It says I need to right click a port and select iscsi port properties. I have right click every port on my systems, and looked at it's properties, and can't find any mention of iscsi anywhere. Could I be missing some sort of software enabler or something?
I have attached a screenshot showing Slot A2, Port 0. On the back of my vnx, this slote says 10 GB ISCSI.

iSCSI in datamovers is not longer available on VNX (well ..only under an RPQ). If you have not had a chance, take a look at Unisphere online help.

Also here is a primus solution that lists a lot of good articles/best practices

Thanks for your help dynamox. I am guessing I will need to open a ticket with support. Below are my ports. I clearly have a 10 GB iscsi card, but just can't seem to configure it.
Or is it possible that those cards in the wrong enclosure, they are in the Datamover enclosure, I believe. Should they go into the enclosure below, the SP's? I know some of the terminology changed with the vnx, so I may have some things wrong.

So none of my ports say iscsi on them for the type. I just have Fibre, FCoE, SAS. Can I turn one of the ports into iscsi?

unfortunately you can't, but i am sure there is a way to add/swap FCOE modules for iSCSI.

Yes, the upper enclosure seems to be a Datamover Enclosure;
Below this one, we can see the Storage Processor Enclosure (with the SAS Slic);
Can you please take a picture of this one, so we should be able to help you...
(You can also review installed SLICs with the following navicli command: navicli -h SPA ioportconfig -list )
Regards, Benoît

Thank you both. I am thinking that I just need to move the cards to the spe below. I know this will require a reboot of the SP's to recognize, so I will have to wait until this weekend.
I have attached a picture of the SP. If it is not good enough, let me know, and i will take another.

The 10GbE SLIC for the datamover is a different part number for the 10GbE SLIC for the Storage processor:
303-081-103C - ASSY, IO, 10 GBE ISCSI 2-PORT IO OPTICAL W/57710 BROADCOM w/latch handle
I'm having trouble copy/pasting the other part number. You'll need to get your Sales team involved to exchange the right part for you. For anyone out there who's daring enough, I don't recommend swapping the wrong card in - you probably won't like the results.
