NDMP setup with TSM and IBMTS3310
We have two unified VNX 5600s in our environment. We are trying to get NDMP backups working using TSM and an IBM TS3310 tape library. I've attached fiber from the primary data mover to the SAN fabrics and have zoned the data movers to two of the drives on the tape library. I can see the drives but it looks like I need to be able to see the robot itself as well. Does that sound right? When I run the following command: server_devconfig server_2 -list -scsi -nondisks I see the following:
name addr type info
gk01 c0t0l0 disk 1 053307000020APM00141604335
gk161 c16t0l0 disk 1 053307000020APM00141604335
When we try to define a path to the library using these devices in TSM it fails. I'm thinking we are missing a device. Any help with this would be appreciated.

is this tape library dedicated for NDMP backup or it's a shared library for other open system backups ? If it's shared you will not present robot/picker to datamovers, you will let TSM handle tape management.
c0t0l0 and c16t0l0 are your device paths that will need to be specified in TSM. I think TSM will ask for element id of the drive ..or something of that nature. Going from memory here, we migrated off TSM 6.3.3 last year. One of IBM RedBook had a pretty good section that described how to configure NDMP.
