The above errors messages suggest there is a network communications issue between the Celerra Control Station and CLARiiON storage processors (SPs). Recommended actions before calling the Support Center include:
Check, reseat, or replace the Ethernet cable to SPs.
2. Make sure the Ethernet switch port is running Duplex-Auto/Speed-Auto.
3. Test using a different port on the Ethernet switch.
If these recommended actions don't solve the issue, call the EMC Support Center and cite this solution ID (emc238515).
good, communication ports seem to be opened. So you have no problems running the same command from other HPUX hosts to this array ? What is the version of naviseccli loaded on this host and version of Block OE on VNX5500 ? I am assuming this is a block only array, no datamovers ?
Teja402000 if you want to verify communication between your host and the SP, try to telnet to the storage process IP address on port 6389 and 443. This port is used for Navicli /SP communication. If communication is open you will see something like this:
[root@ ~]$ telnet vnx5700spa 6389
Trying 10.125.24.9...
Connected to vnx5700spa.mycompany.com (10.125.24.9).
