SMI-S Java Client to collect info from emc vnx
Hello All,
I am new to SMI-S Client development.
I am trying to develop an application (SMI-S Client - preferably in Java) which would connect to emc vnx and other storage and collect performance data to monitor the system.
Guide me to start.
Thank you

You can find the SMI-S programmers guide for VNX on support.emc.com
I dont think you will find much SMI-S programming experience or example code here
As an alternative to developing your own tool - did you look at Unisphere Central which is free ?

I would suggest a Forum search here - there were a few questions about SMI-S here in the last years.
Keep in mind that the VNX has two different SMI-S Providers.
The SMI-S file Provider is built into a Unified/File VNX System and mainly responsible for the NAS part
The SMI-S block Provider needs to be installed on a separate system
More People though seem to use the XML file API or navicli
The different EMC monitoriing Tools dont use SMI-S - they use other API's
