Setting up Encrypting File System (EFS) on a VNX5300 Network Access Storage ( NAS )

We have VNX5300 Network Access Storage ( NAS ) - Which has Windows 2008 as well as 2012 Server Edition. One partition of the Hard Drive has around 4-5 TB of Images. Is it possible to Encrypt the Partition or Folder using EFS and access the file through Shared Connection (NAS).

Yeah we are exploring Third Party Tools for File Encryption and also provide Role based Access.

Bitlocker was our initial approach.  But,  Bitlocker does not support Network Access Storage (NAS).

Looking for some other third party tool which allow encryption on the Folder which is in the Shared Network.

As per my understanding from your post, we can not implement Encryption on the VNX5300 ?? Please correct me, If I am wrong !!

that will be tough, even if you do find something that can write into an encrypted file/container on the file system on VNX, imagine the nightmare of managing this encryption solution on multiple users desktop, operating system compatability ..etc.

there is no encryption at rest on VNX1, VNX2 does offer D@RE

not at the array level. If you are presenting block storage to your operating system, then you can use any host based encryption you like (Bitlocker, TrueCrypt ..whatever).
