VNX replication
Hello,
Sorry if i make some mistakes, i'm french !
My question is simple. I've got a VNX 5300, my servers (host) acces to my VNX LUNs through FC protocol (Mode Block)
I want to know if it's possible to replicate the same LUN to another VNX via the ethernet link ?
Thank You

sure, that's one option. If you have FCIP capable gear, you could use native FC and MirrorView. Is this for migration purposes or you are trying to build some kind of disaster recovery/business continuity solution ?

you will need to purchase iSCSI IO modules, you can't use SP management ports for that.

got iSCSI IO modules and SanCopy/MirrorView license on both arrays, or maybe FCIP solution ? What are you trying to do ?

that's for file only, not for block.

Yes of course, i buy something like that :
1GBE DM MODULE 4 PORT FOR VNX5300 : for iSCSI
and
ADDITIONAL 8 G FC SFP FOR VNX 51/53 : for FC

Yes it's for a DR continuity solution.
I already do something like that with a CX4-120.
I'm not able to do FCIP but i want to use ethernet port base to replicate through iSCSI via mirrorview

Ok, so VNX5300 works like a CX4-120 if i used Mirroview and iSCSI for replication and FC to connect to host ?
Do i need specific port to do iSCSI ?

if it's works like a celerra i could make both (Block and File) on the same interface.
I just need to create "virtual" interface and dedicated it to a protocol.
Thank you for your responses, it's more clear for me now.

well, you have IO modules for datamovers (file) and you have IO modules for SP (block)..if you buy IO modules for datamovers, you can't use them for iSCSI on the block side.
