I'm not 100%, but I think this is where i'd start. I don't have a system to test with at the moment. In Unisphere go to the System Tab then select "Monitoring and Alerts" then "Notifications". Click on "Create Template" and select your events and chck the box "Log to System Log" and press OK. Then select "Configure Centralized Monitor". This will bring up a pop up box, right click on "Portals" and click add. A new selection box will appear with a list of VNX arrays in the domain on the left. Select the on you want and add it to the right and press "Ok". This will take you back to the Portals screen, right click on your VNX and select "Add Centralized Event Monitor". Fill in your IP address in the "Select Systems" section..
Something like that...

Hello fstolzen,
EMC KB emc161945 is showing how you can make Celerra Control Station log to a remote host using syslog.
Hope this would help.
Thanks,
Shawky

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the update ,i followed all your steps but in last step i.e after fill the syslog server Ip in "Select Systems" and then clicked on arrow button but getting a pop-up with "Storage system not found ",please find attachment for reference .
Here VNX and syslog server are not in same subnetmask(not in same network),
Is this cause of not finding the syslog server ?
Please help me out of this How we can configure the syslog server in VNX.
Thank you in advance

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the information. For my case, syslog server is running on Linux X86 64 bit and VNX 5300 block only. I do not have control station. in this case if i go and add the syslog log ip which throws an error "system not found"
It would be great if you explain in details.
Thanks
Dev

System not found - no unisphere agent installed. If you have vnx block only, you need to install Unisphere Central (act as "Portal") and Unisphere Host Agent on your linux.

Piotr
