Ensure SP-B have proper network connectivity. If even direct connection is also not working, you may get the SP checked by the EMC support.

Refer to the KB article "Caught exception while issusing failover request to peer - Error connecting SSL. Error details: A system call error (errno=0)." https://support.emc.com/kb/91851

There appear to be a Block domain issue. SP are unable to communicate with each other therefore when reinitializing security on each SP, each came up as domain master.
Run naviseccli -h ip & spb_ ip< domain -list ( Both SP should report itself being the domain master).

Login into Unisphere -> Settings -> Networking for Block. Using ping_spa & ping_spb to manually ping each other. (This should fail).

If the above failed, the issue lies within the customer network. Even though the SP are in the same subnet there might be a Vlan configuration issue that was setup to block communication from the two SP. Ask the customer to check and verify why the SP cannot ping each other.

The issue encountered was with customer Vlan on their network switch. The change that was made to fix the issue was changing from "isolated private vlan" to "community private vlan".

Attempted the following with NO success:

  • Restart mgmt servers.
  • Uninitialized domain.
  • Recover domain.
  • Recreate self-signed certificates.
  • Rebooted each SP.

Enabled (ip/debug) debug to log all, reproduce the error, set debug back to log critical only, and gather SPcollects. From SPlog you can see the following entries:
"M_Agent::GetNewSPBEventsFromSPA(): error getting events over CMI - Error encountered during CMI call (591828904 641 0) Navisphere Agent".
