If so, VCB allows 3rd party tools to "hook" into the VMware file system.
Which inturn allows you to backup at the array level instead of via agents on the host servers.
Makes sense?
PS - "3rd party tools" = Symantec, CommVault, etc...
as well as a few nich players like VizionCore and Platespin :-)

I am a Vizioncore trainer. One of our SE's, Larry Loucks, a former VMware instructor, had created a one-hour webex video showing vRanger Pro 3.2 integrating with VCB. It is from March, 2008 and is one hour long. You can view or download it at http://www.vizioncore.com/company/events/webinar_archive.php once you do the free registration. Also, vRanger Pro 4.0 is due out this summer and you can learn about it at http://www.vizioncore.com/evolution/.
Because of the Dell OEM agreement with Vizioncore, many Dell employees have been self-registering with the Vizioncore Learning Management System, http://training/vizioncore.com, to learn or refresh their knowledge of all of the Vizioncore products.
