Richard,

There's a few programs running that i'm not familar with, so we're going to keep them from starting up first, if everying is ok when we're done, then we'll remove them from your harddrive.

-

Let's get started...

First, Go to " Add/Remove programs" and uninstall(remove) the following:

NewDotNet (look for it anywhere in the entry)

Be careful when your there, not to remove any personal or system software.

Download, then unzip to " C:\HJT", the newest version of HiJackThis; version 1.99.0. Then repost your log, either now, or after following the steps in the solution ( if provided in this post). This version has features that might help in 'cleaning' up your system.

Run HiJackThis and click " Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AG6omQbx] C:\WINDOWS\cednstr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tyx] C:\WINDOWS\tyx.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OSS] c:\windows\system32\rk.exe -boot

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click " Fix checked".

-

Reboot your computer.

Post back a new log using the newest version of HiJackThis.

Mike.

Rich,

Your welcome!

Those three item(s) are fixed, now let's see if we can figure out why your system is slowing down.

Let's try this...

-----

Go to www.trendmicro.com and click "Free Online Scan". When it's down, select all available drives, then click "Scan". This scan will sometimes pick up things that others will miss.

-----

If you can, tell me more about your system?

1. How much memory does it have, pagefile size, etc.,.?
2. When it's using 100%, which process is utilizing the most cpu time?
3. Does this only happen when watching videos and playing games?

-----

Mike.

And it started running better.. movies play normal, but when it came to playing games it craped out. So i dont know what else to do ran out of ideas...please help thanks

Rich,

Check the settings for your graphics card and make sure that hardware accelleration is enabled. I'm not too familar with graphics cards, but it sounds like your hardware either isn't pulling it's weight and the CPU might be stepping in to make sure the frame rate for the video stays constant. Also make sure the graphics card has DMA (direct memory access - this lets the graphic card get data from memory, instead of having the cpu do it.).

I'd also check and make sure you've got the latest version of DirectX installed.

Check with someone on the hardware forums and see if they can help you troubleshoot your graphics card, and make sure the settings are correct.

-

Which process in "Windows Task Manager" was using the most cpu time?

Hey Mike thanks for all your help, but i think i will to buy an extend warrenty and send in my laptop to dell to have them fix it, cause ill be going around in circles. The vidoe forum guys responed by putting in a new graphics card, that mine cant handle the game graphics. Which to me is bull sh#t
cause it play them good before, i was online whipping peoples asses on warcraft 3 and their machine was running slow, lol. So ill just send this computer to dell and hopeful things will be better.

Rich,

Your welcome!

Sorry I couldn't help you more than I did. Before you take off, did you try any benchmarking utilities to check the status of your current hardware? That would tell you if the hardware is running ok and upto speed (along with the drivers, DirectX, etc.,.)

Good luck with your system,

Mike.
