Hi terenkleon,
Knowing which variant you have of the "whatever" is helpful in our advising you on how to clean it. Are you seeing the XP Internet Security 2011 or XP Antispyware 2012 Firewall Alert? If not, what are your symptoms and which security scans have you run at this point?

At start up: keep tapping the F8 key. This will get you into "Safe Mode".
Once in Safe Mode, choose Safe Mode with "Networking". This will get you online to download the free version of Malwarebytes ( .org ). Download it and update right away. Also go to the Microsoft web site and get their Microsoft Security Essentials, also free. Download and update it also. Run these two anti virus softwares and then re-start your computer to get everything back to normal. This should take care of the trojan virus.

With this particular variant, the infection needs to be disabled before attempting to clean it with MBAM. If you need help with this procedure, please let us know.
Please do not attempt to install another anti-virus such as Microsoft Security Essentials until your current realtime AV has been COMPLETELY removed. With more than one anti-virus program on the same computer, there is a chance for conflicts if a virus gets on the machine. Each of the anti-virus programs wants to "control" the situation and in some cases, the task of removing the virus does not get done at all. You will also experience slowdown as each is trying to run in realtime, and you run the risk of data loss from a system crash that the instability can cause.
terenkleon, please post back and let us know if you have any questions.

Lysty, I suggest that you have someone walk you through a fix. This forum is not set up for that. Click on the link in my signature to SpywareHammer. The volunteers at that site are trained and will help you for free. If you prefer to use Dell please see the link at the top of this forum to their fee-based support. If you decide to use SpywareHammer, you will need to register at SpywareHammer and follow the instructions for posting a diagnostic log in their Malware Removal Forum.
Good Luck!
