How to scan individual drives?

Is there anyway to scan just an external hard drive through Norton Antivirus to see if it's okay or not?

I'm running Norton Internet Security so I assume that the procedure would be very similar with NAV. You can create a Custom Scan to scan only particular files, folders, or drives (including external drives).
