Dale,
rather than clicking on the orange bar (Sun Download Manager),
move your cursor to the link marked jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe (under windows OFFLINE installation)
and click on that.

I always seem to have trouble getting this program downloaded and updated. When I go to the site in the link I am presented with two required files for offline installation...one is 15.21MB and the other is 0.36MB. The only action selection available that I could see was the orange bar saying download using the Java Download Manager. I checked both boxes and pressed the bar, got the option to save the file, and it downloaded a file of 1.55KB in just a few seconds.
The downloaded files ended up on the Desktop, and opening them up brought up the Java Download Manager. The top two lines were highlighted in red, and the next two show the .exe file and the small file. After a period of time no progress was shown on the progress bar. Unsure of what to do next and wonder if this update is security critical?

Beversol,
Just to be sure you realize this, when updating multiple machines, it suffices to download the (15.21MB) OFFLINE version of the installer only once, onto one of your PC's, then copy it onto a memory stick (or CD R/W disk). you can then transfer (copy over) the file to each of the remaining machines and perform the installation on each one.
[you should even be able to run the installer from the memory stick itself, upon plugging it in to each machine, without having to copy the installer program onto each one]

ky331,
I wondered if that would be possible, but I did not attempt it. I will when I do the next round of updates.
Thanks for the info.
