McAfee Security Center update

Question

Hello! I looked all over for a proper place to post this, but this Community Forum is now so incredibly "specialized" that after searching for more than an hour, I finally landed here.

I have 3 older PCs running McAfee's 3-user Security Center and they have all updated to the latest version. I also have a 1-user Security Center that came with my Dell laptop and is good for 10 more months. Unfortunately, McAfee won't automatically update this because it came pre-packaged with the laptop, so it's up to Dell to decide when and if they are going to update the software.

This normally wouldn't be an issue, but I have a home network that I'm trying to "manage" through McAfee and it simply won't work properly unless all the software is the same.

Can anybody tell me if Dell has plans to update the McAfee software? If nobody knows, can someone point me in another direction as to what other department I should contact?

Hi Betty,

Eventually Dell will have to update the software but it is anyones guess as to when. I used to purchase McAfee directly from Dell and had an issue similar to yours. I recall Dell taking almost 9 months to update to the same version as buying from McAfee directly, so when my subscription ran out I just ended up buying direct from McAfee. If you go over to the McAfee forum and register and post a message maybe one of the moderators can give you a better answer.
