McAfee Shredder
I am trying to install Norton 360 which my ISP provides, and when I go to download it the screen says I have to uninstall McAfee Shredder. I have run the McAfee uninstall several times but to no avail. I have run PC tuneups, bought a registry cleaner, still no luck. I don't even remember having Shredder when I bought my Dell computer, it must have been in the bundle that came with the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Lillikins, and welcome to DCF:
I don't use McAfee (won't allow it on my PC) but perhaps this info will help:

or

(I also have to say that I can't recommend Norton 360, and wouldn't trust my PC's security to anything from my ISP- but that's just my 2 pesos).

I to tried many times to remove the McAfee Shredder, ran all the removal tools, tried registry cleaners, etc.
This is what finally worked for me.
(Run) (regedit) In the registry editor window, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows >> CurrentVersion >> Uninstall.
Find the key named {625BD732-ACDF-4552-BF22-98EBB413B6F3} delete this key, close the Registry Editor and try the installation again.
At last it's gone, and I have downloaded my free Norton from my ISP.

Thanks for the help!!!! Sorry it took me so long to use your advice, but I was away from the computer which had the problem. Your suggestion worked like a charm.
Thanks Again.
