McAfee.......scanning taking way too long

We use McAfee Suite provided by our internet server, Comcast.  I find that it takes a long long time to scan the computer ..
 
Does anyone else find that happening to them?
 
Does anyone know why it would be doing this?  We use to use Norton and I never remembering Norton taking so so long to scan a computer.

I see that you have posted a couple of HJT logs about your slowdown problems. Be patient, those good folks are swamped with logs, and may take a day or two to reply.
 
In the meantime I would only note that slowdowns with security suites, and with McAfee, are common complaints here. And I personally would never entrust my PC's security to any free program or suite offered by my ISP; just my opinion, FWIW.

I don't know what version of McAfee you're using, but the complaint about very long scans is not unusual. I don't know if you've gone to their support forum, but the complaint is quite common. Below is a link you might want to check out. It is for VS11, but once you're there, you can check on your version.
