McAfee wont install

Ok, I got some sor of virus on my new Dell XPS 630i XP pro. I spent the better part of an hour with Dells VERY annoying customer support techs that spoke very poor english.. All he would say is to format my hard drive and start over, well I did.. I have a clean install of XP pro, everything works well but McAfee Security Center CD install.. I've done EVERYTHING suggested from this forum, went to McAfee's forums and can't seem to get an answer to my problem..

Problem.. Install from Reinsallation CD, go through the onscreen clicks, then it tells me it's installing components. Then it starts for a second then stops. I get red X's and I click on them and It tell me to restart the PC and reinstall. Well Ive done this 1/2 dozen time, no fix, same problem.. I then tried the McAfee Virtual Technician, all this tells me is that I have no McAfee installed...

SO I go onto McAfee's website and try downloading a newer version(?) from their FREE download section. I follow all the instructions, I get the same install screens as I do on my CD. Once it goes into the installation part, it stops and gives me the same result, restart you pc and reinstall again..

I've been trying to get this installed for hours now with no results. I've turned off my XP firewall, Ive done everything I can think of.. I'm lost.. First time using McAfee, starting to think I should have gone with Norton..

Help..!!

-=Thank you
