Mcafee Registry Virus?

I used to have McAfee on my pc but it was only causing problems after a while when somehow loads of virus's starting downloading, since then i have tried a system restore with no luck, uninstalled McAfee and replaced it with AVG aswell as a registry cleaner etc.

I know the problem is with a virus connected to McAfee, and registryfix found this to be the issue:

RegKey : HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
ValueName : mcagent_exe
Value : C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcagent.exe /runkey
The file (C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcagent.exe /runkey) does not exist at the specified location

I have ran the registry editor and tried to delete anything connected to McAfee as it shouldnt be on the system and found these:

(Default)     REG_SZ      McAfee SiteAdvisor Service

AuthenticationLevel     REG_DWORD    0x00000004 (4)

Launch Permission     REG_BINARY

LocalServer32    REG_SZ     McAfee SiteAdvisor Service

LocalServer        REG_SZ     McAfee SiteAdvisor Service

I tried to delete them but they keep coming back when i search for it again, and the one (Default) comes up with the message

"unable to delete all specfied values"

The registry cleaners i have find and remove them only for them to come straight back again.

Can anyone help?? Please?

Thanks.

That is simply a remnant that was not cleaned when you uninstalled McAfee. It is not a virus.

The other is McAfee Site Advisor. It is not an anti-virus, but a web site "warning" tool.

Please read this discussion:

Did you run the McAfee removal tool after you uninstalled McAfee? That should have taken care of it.

I don't support the use of so called "registry cleaners" because they can aggravate a situation and take steps we are many times not manually aware of.
It is better not to resort to such programs where you don't know what is happening with the proposed fix and the registry.
Otherwise, a change to the registry can make a system unbootable by one mistake.
