Opinions please

Question

In your opinion which internet security suite is the best .. Nortons Internet Security 2007 or AVG Internet security 2007? I have two Gigs of RAM and I have used Nortons up that much of RAM? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

IMHO, the best security suite is no security suite. I don't think a single vendor can offer the best AV, antispyware, firewall, etc and the suites tend to slow down your PC. And I certainly wouldn't allow Norton in any form on my PC.

I would suggest instead you get a good standalone AV (NOD32, Kaspersky, or BitDefender, if cost is not a factor) and supplement it with the numerous good (and free) anti-malware programs available (see links below). There is nothing wrong with Window's Firewall, but it only detects incoming threats. If you want to know which programs are attempting to access the internet from your PC, then I would recommend Zonealarm's free firewall.

I recommend you try Kaspersky Internet Security Suite.Its has a free 30 day trial at this link. http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads You will be amazed at how lite it is on your system and the scope of protection it offers.Just be sure that if you do you select the basic config. on install or you may be a little overwhelmed at the amount of rules you have to set in the custom install.But the basic install gives you more protection than most people need.Just be sure to run the norton removal tool before you install or you will have major conflicts including possibly not being able to complete install.
