Remove McAfee Firewall
I have a Dell Laptop 1525 a little over 1 yr old, Vista 32bit Home Premium.
Several days ago Dell helped me re do my laptop as when I received it.
I did not want McAfee that comes with the PC so after my PC was redone I went to control panel , add/remove programs and removed McAfee (so I thought).
Now I started to load back my programs and went to Windows Security to turn my firewall off.
I found that McAfee Firewall is running but Windows Firewall is turned off.
How do I remove McAfee firewall from my PC ?
Thanks
Arthur H

Arthur:
1) if you see the McAfee Security Center still present in your system tray, open it, and then DISable any running McAfee products.
2) THEN, try (again?) to remove the McAfee product(s) via your control panel, Add/Remove programs.
3) [See note below before applying this step!!!] Assuming your goal is to remove EVERYTHING that's McAfee (e.g., anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, firewall, site adviser and everything else McAfee), download and save [to a convenient location, like your desktop] the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (MCPR)
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
Windows Vista users must right-click MCPR.exe and select Run as Administrator.
assuming you get a "CleanUp Successful" message, restart (reboot) your computer. McAfee should be gone.
Please note: If you only want to remove some, but not all, McAfee products, do **NOT** use the MCPR tool. Running the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR.exe) removes all 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 versions of McAfee consumer products It's an "all-or-nothing proposition". Rather, just use steps 1 & 2 to first disable and then remove only the particular components you wish to be rid of.

When McAfee was uninstalled all went with it. No show on the task bar, no show in the programs, and no show in the add/remove list..
The only shown is the firewall on McAfee

Thanks,
The MCPR did the trick.
