SE Labs tests antiviral apps...

Read SE Labs' (UK) new assessment of home security products to see how well they handled known threats and targeted attacks.

Here's one table from the report:antiviral.jpg

Other tables show which ones blocked threats, or neutralized them, or didn't prevent the test system from getting compromised...

Thanks Ron. I'm a big fan of SE Labs for some years now.

Their latest test results mirror the latest "Real World Tests" from AV-Comparatives:
https://www.av-comparatives.org/tests/real-world-protection-test-february-may-2020/

Both of these independent AV test sites have confirmed for some years now that the free AVs
from Microsoft, Avast, Panda and others perform as well (if not better) than the paid AVs.

I personally have used the embedded free Microsoft Defender/Security for some years now, and
am glad to see that SE Labs gave it top ranking.

Yes, very good these companies do independent testing of AV apps under identical conditions so we see a clear comparison, not just hype from the vendors who make these AV apps.

As for Windows Defender getting top marks, at least Microsoft is actually doing something right...
